About ARM
Automotive Recyclers of Michigan (ARM) is a non-profit trade association created in 1972 for the purpose of ensuring the proper dismantling of vehicles and their reuse of components, and the recycling of hulks by shipping them to scrap metal processors.
ARM currently represents the interests of over 100 direct members and approximately 30 associate members. ARM members set the standard for automotive recycling by operating clean facilities, selling quality parts, and promoting environmentally sound principles in their businesses.
ARM is an affiliate chapter of the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA), an international trade association with over 1000 direct members through 40 worldwide Affiliate Chapters. ARA has set industry-wide standards, terms, and codes to create consistent parts descriptions and expectations of quality. ARA represents automotive recyclers at the national level on such issues as mercury disposal, air and water pollution, and solid waste generation. As an affiliate chapter of ARA, ARM promotes many of these nationally accepted programs and practices at the state-wide level.
We believe our customers should be treated as we want to be treated ourselves. As ARM members, we will uphold ourselves to the highest standards by educating ourselves on local, state and federal laws and by keeping informed on any changes that may impact our industry. We will achieve professional and personal growth through participation in and support of the ARM Association and its wide variety of meetings, professional speakers, our Newsletter and open communication among our fellow members. The base of our profession is our parts, which we properly represent with an emphasis on quality. As a recycler we live our business. We are saving valuable natural resources as we are recycling as much as possible from the vehicles we process in our clean, safe, orderly and environmentally friendly facilities.Social responsibility is a must, and we provide this by our assistance to local charitable organizations and by being a good neighbor.
