The auto salvage industry is regulated by the Industrial Stormwater Program. This presentation will provide an overview of the industrial stormwater regulations in Michigan, specifically, how to determine if a permit is required, what type of permit applies to auto salvage operations, and what actions are required of a company under a permit. The purpose of the permit is to ensure stormwater discharges from auto salvage operations do not negatively impact Michigan’s rivers, streams, lakes, and wetlands.
